Course Description:

In this pre-recorded lecture, Alice explains why exclusion decisions can be difficult and prone to error.  The webinar will explore the existing literature on false negative error rates and what factors appear to contribute to these rates.  She then defines the examination process and identifies when exemplars are “incomplete” and examiners should not exclude, but rather, request additional exemplars.  Alice identifies searching parameters for fingers, palms, phalanges, and feet.  Finally, she gives advice and recommendations for examinations, policies, and reporting practices to help reduce false negative errors.
